Aberystwyth Golf Course was one of six golf courses designed by Harry Vardon, a six times Open Champion. It provides a an exciting and challenging round of golf for golfers across all levels of ability. Laid out on undulating terrain it begins with a formidable par 4 with out of bounds on the right hand side and a blind shot to the green. Carrying on to the par 4 third which reaches the highest point on the course and provides great views of West Wales, however the it is the 4th tee that provides the greatest view with the whole of cardigan bay on display. The par 3 9th hole provides a sheltered tee playing to a small green which is well protected to the left and short with bunkers, combined with steep drop offs to the right andything hit long an accurate strike from the tee is needed. The back nine delivers the both the longest hole on the course in the 10th quickly followed by another par 5 before reaching what is the toughest hole at Aberystwyth Golf Club, the par 4 12th.\r\n\r\nStanding at 6101 yards and a par of 70 Aberystwyth Golf Course gives an enjoyable round of golf with Harry Vardon himself stating in his initial report of 1911 that; “Having viewed the proposed site of the Aberystwyth Golf Course, I consider that you are very fortunate in the situation of the course, the views obtainable being second to none. Although not a seaside links, it is the next best thing to it.”\r\n\r\n
