Station Road, Aberdovey, Gwynedd, Wales, LL35 0RT
Aberdovey Golf Course is a prime example of links golf and rated at number 17 in courses to play under £100 it’s a real treat. It’s present design has been shaped over the years by three of the great golf course architects in Colt, Braid and Fowler although its the natural elements of the links that play the greatest role in shaping it.\r\n\r\nA long opening par 4, which usually plays wind against, makes for a stern beginning and making par here is something to be pleased with. The 2nd tee continues in to the dunes providing an elevated tee shot and plenty of temptation when actually the more subtle approach is in fact benefical before reaching ‘Cadar’ a blind and buynker free par 3 who’s reputation precedes it. The course hugs the dunes until golfers have completed the 14th and are heading for home by which time they’ve faced the four par 3’s, all of which face in different directions, eleven par 4’s, 9 of which that can play over 400 yards, and three par 5’s for which present themselves later into your round at the 7th, 13th and 15th holes.
